Dear Residents of the HCFD District:
It is that time of year again to kick off our 2019 Fund Drive. To those Residents in our Community who contributed to our 2018 campaign, our heartfelt THANK YOU goes to you! Your donations were supplemented by the hard work of our Fire Line Officers to secure Grants from State & Federal Agencies. Donations from our local Residents & Businesses remain the mainstay source for money to pay such things, included but not limited to, Mortgage, Utilities, Training, and Equipment updates. Our Social Hall rentals have also been an additional source of income.
Last year, HCFD received approximately 650 calls for assistance, most of which were EMS calls. The incalculable hours in which these calls require, plus weekly Trainings & Fundraising Events, are a main contributor as to why there is a continuing shortage of Volunteers both locally & statewide. Some Fire Departments & EMS have added a few paid Members to supplement help during manpower shortage periods. Most Departments do not have the finances to do this. We must also recognize & give a huge Thank You to the Harborcreek Township Emergency Response Team for their assistance & continued support to all of the Harborcreek Fire Departments during daytime manpower shortages.
So, in addition to asking for your hard-earned dollars to support our 2018 Fund Drive, we are also asking for your consideration in Volunteering in the following ways as well.
Join our active Fire Department/EMS Team–Training will be provided & the rewards will be substantial.
Join our Social Membership – Help is needed with Building and Ground Maintenance & Fundraising Events. This will be a great help in reducing some of the countless hours spent by our active Members.
In conclusion, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please give the above some serious consideration. Your Service Rewards will be invaluable.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
Charlie Ramsey, President HCFD
